How to run for local office
Municipal elections are coming up in the Spring of 2027. On August 1, 2026, LWV OPRF sponsored a presentation that shared information on what is needed to run for a local board and then how to stay on the ballot, no matter what village you live in. Speakers were Retired Appellate Judge Matias Delort and Sheilah O'Grady from the Citizen Advocacy Center. The presentation was followed by a panel discussion by three former local board members; Elizabeth Lippitt, Colette Lueck, and Thomas Gary. You can watch the video of this event here.
